Posted - 01/04/2013 : 23:26:00 Just a brief message to say thanks for all the tips everyone - I have been 'certain' from his changed behaviour he was going to go into blue, but I also find I always seem to use this as an excuse... but then I'm usually right if I wait long enough lol. He seemed to have become a teenager overnight, going from being up 9am-7pm and then tucked up in bed to not getting up until 4pm and still being out at 10pm :O He is definitely going into blue now as when I checked him last night his tum was just that little bit cloudy - not as obvious as Corno, but definite none-the-less. So he is now curled up in a moist hide and I have a long wait ahead then... and hope he feeds after that, the little menace!
Has your Hoggie shed yet gmac? |

I'm with you Hissy on the moults. I cried for half an hour after dealing with my tarantulas moult!
Smart bunny - I've found hoggies have longer between sheds and take longer to shed. Their belly scales do go a milky blue/grey colour though |

Posted - 19/03/2013 : 16:56:57 Nice hoggie, sorry but am not taken with the spider, won't look so scary when fully grown I think.
Smart bunny - We also find with our hoggie that she seems to be in blue a lot longer than any of our other snakes not sure if thats just her or if all hoggies are like that. Oh and she also gets really grumpy, very hissy. |

Posted - 19/03/2013 : 16:49:19 That moult is horrible looking. I think I'd be more scared of that than the spider |

Posted - 19/03/2013 : 13:48:37 Wow is that spider normally that colour or is it just because it has only just had a moult? |

Oh right, thanks gmac - at least I know what to expect now! Was wondering as ours has been hiding away a bit more than usual the last few days, but tum is still jet black so thought I must be wrong - will have to just keep a close lookout. Thank you :D |

and Awwwwww!!
Can I ask you a quick question about blue hoggies gmac? I'm assuming that like Corno, their nice dark belly scales go very grey as the 1st sign they are getting ready? I always know ages before Corno's eyes go blue that she's getting ready, but with Ember being amel I'm rarely certain before the cloudy eyes. I'm hoping I get lots of notice with Hogster too? |
