Posted - 09/02/2013 : 21:41:22 Ooooh I second the Strepsils cool lol! I hate strepsils, but those ones I can just about stand and they did help when I got a milder throat infection a second time :) |

Posted - 09/02/2013 : 12:04:19 I wouldn't take the chance, even though it's unlikely.I passed a cold onto my chickens last year and ended up losing 2 and another 4 were very ill. I keep away from them now when I'm ill, and let someone else do them for me. I had the sore throat from hell a few years ago, and ended up losing my voice for 2 weeks....the house was in chaos, couldn't shout at the kids or the dogs and boy did they know it As SB suggested, get yourself to the Doctor if it doesn't improve, and try some Stepsils cool lozenges, they numb your throat and give a bit of relief more than anything else I've tried. Hope you feel better soon |

Posted - 09/02/2013 : 09:38:55 I wouldn't have thought so.
I had a terrible sore throat once, I also described it as feeling like swallowing broken glass all the time, painkillers absolutely didn't touch it at all - agreed to go to the GP after my nan nagged me lol - turned out I had a bad throat infection, so if it goes on and painkillers have no effect I'd pop to the docs SBB :) Hope the household recovers soon! |

Posted - 09/02/2013 : 09:34:11 My guess would be that it's highly unlikely. These things are usually species specific, but there are exceptions. Still, I'd think it less likely between reptile and mammal. But I must admit, I did think about it re snakes, too, when I had a cold, and handled them less. Then again, I'm over cautious. :-)
