So my partners shop(Malvern Aquatics & Reptiles) has a rescue Anery Corn in at the minute. It got dumped on them because it wasn't feeding due to a bad shed. It's pretty skinny and about 3ft long, friendly as anything. I've already fallen in love with it and am planning to get it when I have done some sorting. I'll be having it sexed first obviously and then I'll be putting it with whichever sex it is the same as. For example, if female it goes with Sakana my current female and opposite if male. Now, s/he needs to put weight on first and put some length on before it can move in with mine because both mine are over 5ft long and I wouldn't feel safe putting a 3ft in with a 5ft snake... I am saving up for another viv so that I can separate my current pair now I don't have as many fish tanks(sold one so have room for a viv stack instead) and then I was going to get a 3ft Monkfield Viv(the ones that open at the top) to put the Anery in before s/he goes with whichever snake(to grow up a bit) or s/he'll have to stay at the shop boarding which will cost me £23 a week. The new viv will be 4ft long so that it can accommodate 2 snakes comfortably and the single one(whichever it is) can stay in the 3ft.

The Monkfield viv will get re-used with my new addition idea when the Anery moves out of it. I was planning(have been for a while) on getting a Dotted House Snake(L.maculatus), is a 3ft Monkfield viv any good for one for life?

Also, anyone know what varnish's I can use in a viv? Gonna get some acrylic paints and paint the back piece of wood on my vivs and then varnish it so the paint doesn't come off on the snake? Ideas?

Can't help you with a dotted house snake but when I wanted to refresh the back of my viv stack I took the back off and covered it in black sticky back plastic. With the edges tucked around and the vents covering the edges there, there are no sticky edges that can lift and hurt snakey and it is easy to wipe clean. Looks good too.

Anyone? I don't know if I can get a Monkfield Viv from my partners shop so will end up getting a Exo Terra Flat Faunarium Large which is fine temporarily for the corn but if it OK for a Dotted House Snake to live in for life? I'll post about the corn rescue in the corn sections now

Oh OK lol, didn't know that... I'm just thinking cause it's going to need a lot of Black Acrylic paint to coat 2x 3ft pieces of wood and 1 4ft piece so my mum suggested getting a small tin of Black Matt Wall Paint to do the black background and then get acrylics to do the designs which is why I asked about the Varnish

Thanks for that!
