So, i am a bad owner for keeping Fudge in a 'box' and not a 'glass thingy' as she put it
I told her it was perfectly fine, tried to explain its easier for me to move and clean etc, but nooooooo she knows best.
Never even had a reptile herself, told her to go do reaserch before spouting such.....rubbish
So nearly fell out, but she backed before we fell out just so annoying

Well I am not yet sure if you are cruel as it looks to me that someone is feeding a corn snake to a dog in your sig pic??

Ooh you mean reptile mummy you! Good on you for sticking to your guns, surely anyone that knows you should know you're as soft as muck with your pets and spoil them rotten!
scottishbluebird Posted - 02/12/2012 : 22:10:15
Thats what really gets me sooooo mad, people that have no clue telling you that youre doing something wrong, go do some research, if THEN still think its wrong say something.
BTW Jake is super cute in your sig!

Like I say, you need to keep reptiles to understand. People think the bigger the space the better but in reptiles this isnt always true.

EAN632 She is in a clear rub,so not exactly 'windows' the lid is black, since rub is standing on side for the height, lid is at the back she would hate it if she couldnt see what was going on, she is always watching me at night when i am reading!
And unlike others in the house she listens to me talking lol

To be honest before I kept snakes I would have had the same opinion as your friend! keeping an animal in a box with no windows or means to see the world would have been very cruel im my opinion as a none snake keeper. Its only through keeping snakes that I know its not cruel and that most reptiles prefer small dark spaces then big glass open spaces.

Lol I have two females in a rub and goyle is in a glass. Both the same size and they seem just as happy as each other :)

Yeah it gets annoying being told off by somebody that hasnt got a clue in the first place

Oh dear. The tubs/rubs is one thing that I can understand why 'outsiders' don't understand/think it's cruel. All you can really is educate them on it, and well, if they refuse to at least consider it from your point of view, then what can you do I guess!
