Will soon be upgrading my Royal to a viv and was wondering what stat and bulb set up to use.
Any help and advise from other Royal owners, ie what set ups you use. Would be a big help.
Cheers.

You can use an infrared bulb on a dimming stat if you prefer. I've not used one for a royal so I can not comment on how well they heat the ambients though.

We recently moved ours to a viv. The viv is 3ft x 15" x 18"h. We have a 100 watt ceramic, guarded, on a pulse stat. Stat is set to 33c and the stat probe is attached to the top of the hot hide. Temps inside the hot hide are 30c-31c. Cool end sits at 27c-28c. I intend to move the stat probe so it sits on the back wall close to the ceramic as Nigel does like to lay on top of the probe which is not helpful. I will say that the top of the viv gets quite warm as our ceramic holder fits directly to the roof of the viv. So watch out if you intend to have thing else on top of the viv. Took a few days for temps to settle as well but now its all running smoothly.
