My Partner got a female Leopard Gecko at the end of May and in the time she's had her she's laid 3 eggs... In the shop he was with a male as they were breeding her, she laid 7 eggs in the shop and they thought she'd finished as she didn't lay anymore for about a week but was still kept with the male...

he first was laid on the 1st June and the other 2 were laid 1 week ago. I've candelled all of them for her and I know for sure that the 2 that were laid 1 week ago are no good so have been frozen. I know this because they were dirty yellow/orange and had mould growing on them, I candelled anyway and there were no veins or anything in them. I put a small cut in them both and the fluid that did come out was a horrible creamy white puss like goo.

The one I'm asking about is the one she laid on the 1st June... Egg A shall we say. Now, I candelled and it looks good. It's still white and has veins in it, looks a nice pink inside but I'm not sure as I can't see any embryo in it at all. I can see a small darker patch and I'm not sure if it's an embryo or just something wrong in the egg. I have pictures of candelling and the actual egg.

Pitures

Egg.

Candelling.

What do you guys think? Should she keep incubating it or just freeze it?

Hiya, sorry I've not been able to get on a comp for a while XD

The egg still looks good and now the darker patch is growing so she's going to continue incubating it :)

A bit too late to freeze it anyway IMO, thats a little Leopard Gecko in there now, not a cluster of cells. So yeah, that darker patch will be the Embryo :)

And the egg looks good, I'd incubate, no harm in trying if that's what you want to do!

I would say give it a go , I had my two crestie eggs and I could have sworn they looked bad half way thru incubating , had flecks of mould and didn't look alive inside and to my suprise both hatched , u have nothing to loose until they start to really smell and shrivel up , I've seen mouldy eggs hatch before now . It looks ok in the pics xx

She's got an incubator and everything but was wondering whether there was any point in incubating due to time between the eggs
I'll keep updating for her.

If you are able to incubate, and want to go for it, look forward to seeing if it hatches!

Thanks Figs

I thought it looked healthy but with the other 2 being bad and her not laying between her clutch of 7 in the shop and this one on the 1st of July, I just thought they could have been retained eggs that she was getting rid of..
Between her clutch of 7 that were laid on the 5th May and this one laid on the 1st July... I thought there was really not chance but we'll try.
