Belle has shed three times since we have had her and on each occasion she gets shed stuck on all her feet. She has a damp moss hide and a damp humus hide but she just won't use them and we end up having to put her in a shallow tub of water and try and ease the shed off. It seems to be quite uncomfortable for her when we do this and it really is stuck. Any suggestions as to how we can maybe ease this problem for her?

i use warm water bath and cotton buds to gently ease as much as i can off without making it uncomfortable. when i rescued meg she was quite bad but now i have done it once for her they seem to be fine every shed now! :D. can you not put a small layer of damp moss in her normal hide when you see her start to shed? so she has no choice but to use it.

i massage her toes and ease off as much as i can before she gets fed up and then leave her alone, i have put a tray of calcium sand in her viv to see if that helps slough it off too, and judging by the patterns in it she does use it !

So when I see that she has shed stuck on her toes massage a little olive oil on to her feet. Do I just leave the oil on and the shed will come off on its own or do I rub her feet (gently of course) until the stuck shed comes off. Also do I need to try and remove the oil or as much as possible? Sorry for all the questions but leo shed seems alot more tricky to remove than snake shed and even my skinks if it gets stuck.

Mrs T has this exact problem too, i end up massaging her toes with olive/vit e oil, i did try her with a warm paddle in a bowl but she did,nt like that much !
