Ha ha sounds like as good an excuse as any to get another!
chrisc Posted - 28/09/2011 : 19:16:45
thanks all. jeffs doing great still a tiny bit of wheesing now and then but all good apart from that. he is now really calm apart from rattling his tail when i pick him up, no more being jumpy when being handled. kind of miss him being unpredictable. mmmm time for a new interesting snake im thinking a king, gopher or bull snake they seem fun

nusnakemum Posted - 26/09/2011 : 19:35:06
aaaww bless taking his medicine in good temper glad its working so fast
chrisc Posted - 26/09/2011 : 18:34:23
jeff is now much better after his second load of meds. his mouth is back to how it should be and he is mincing around the viv like he used to. have found the meds are easy to do as it only takes a few seconds, but dont like giving him the fluid tho as it takes a while an he squirms a lot in the pillow case. he has shown no signs of agression towards me at all when giving him the shots which im happy about, thought he would get shirty
scottishbluebird Posted - 23/09/2011 : 20:03:21
Glad everything is ok, and you are confident about the injection
chrisc Posted - 23/09/2011 : 16:25:49
im not to worried about injecting him its just holding him an doing it on my own next week, will work something out. yea he will be alright. he survived being dumped in a flat for months so a few shots will be easy
nusnakemum Posted - 23/09/2011 : 15:57:43
glad to hear its not too bad - good luck with the injections though hope they are easier than u think - he,l soon be right as rain
chrisc Posted - 23/09/2011 : 13:27:21
yea he did the first dose to show me the way to do it
kdlang Posted - 23/09/2011 : 13:19:30
Glad its nothing too serious. Did the vet show you how to give the injections?
chrisc Posted - 23/09/2011 : 12:26:53
right then update time.
jeff does have an R.I but its not a bad one and he has the beginings of mouth rot an is a little dehydrated.
i have a course of fortum to give him and some fluids for the next 4 days.
was told to bath him to get rid of the retained shed which i have now got all of it off so his nostrils ect are all clear an his mouth looks a bit better. seems a little happier now.
should be interesting giving him the injections as im on my own all week. im going to put most of him in a pillow case an hold the opening around him.
good job its payday that just set me back £106!! ah the fun of keeping exotic pets
