Hiya, a couple of days ago I was in spain (the mountains to be specific) and while investigating a pond, found a snakey! He/she was ever so cute and just a baby, so I scooped him up, brought him into the house (not making my mom happy lol) and we looked at him for a few minutes before putting him back.

While we had him, my mom identified him as a False Smooth Snake, which is venemous. I didn't think he was so after we put him back I did a ton of research and he was actually a Viperine Snake :)

Here's a couple of pics, he wasn't aggressive at all although a little hyper :P

My favourite! Lochness Monster Style! >>

Sorry about all the pics! P.S he was in shallow water because I found him in a pond :)

Woo, just looking at the pics and thought it looked similar to one of the UKs native snakes (natrix natrix) and found out it is.
Is a cracking find and a stunning little beastie.
