Anyone ever experienced this?? My dumerils boa hasnt eaten for 8 weeks now+the last 3 times ive tried he shy's away+hissing quite loudly at the rat is this a sign he is scared/threatened by it, or even me? He has fed 3 times for me before, but im getting abit worried now and ive tried everything i can think of! Never heard a snake hiss before, so if someone could shed some light on why he may be doing this, that'd be great! Really want Bo to have some food!!! but at same time, definately dont want to be upsetting him by dangling rat weaners infront of him!
Thanks

tbh i wouldnt worry too much yet, 8 weeks is nothing in the grand scheme. this time of year they can be fussy over food, especially if the temps have dropped a bit. Boas as a whole dont generally fast of winter like the hibernating species of snakes, although, they can still be fussy if the overall temps have dropped too much.
Also, this time of year is breeding season, and that could be whats causing it, especially if its a male.

Occasionally one of my babies will have a strop at its food, i give it something smaller and its a happy chappy again.

i have done this mike! last few ones ive tried have been small weaners (about 40g) whereas the ones he's been eating before he came to me and the 3 he's eaten for me were about 75g! i just dunno what to do :'(
