Posted - 23/11/2010 : 19:47:39 OK so my nan has agreed she will give me money for a snake for Christmas, I have always wanted a Python so thinking about going down that route. Just wondering what would be the best one to sort of start off raising Pythons with? Any particular kind that's a little bit easier to handle and also don't want some 15foot thing, maybe sort of 7-8foot at most? Thanks for any help and sorry if this should be on Python forum.

Posted - 28/11/2010 : 22:43:07 I am thinking maybe just getting another corn or 2. I wouldn't want to get a Python and then regret it just for the sake of wanting one, it wouldn't be fair on the snake. But then again I may do after some time of research and handling one and such like. We shall see :). |

Posted - 25/11/2010 : 21:44:50 easy - cornsnake! we all know how great they are!!!! lol but if you are looking at something else hogg islands are awsum!!!! ;) - mines pretty docile so far and dare i say a bit dumb! but it adds to the character! and the colours are fantastic! |

Posted - 25/11/2010 : 21:37:24 Get a few corns, you could get a couple of fab morphs for the price of a python or boa.....and if moneys no issue I'd like a ghost bloodred please!! Seriously though if it was me I'd go for a royal python, brazilian rainbow boa or a blue beauty (know its not a python but they fascinate me) |

Posted - 25/11/2010 : 21:07:45 I could get both really, I don't have a budget (not to sound c0cky) but my nans buying so I can get whichever I want. So both does sound good, but after seeing some other morphs or corns, I'm now thinking maybe just another corn, really not sure what to do when I have such a wide selection :( |

Im with you, either BRB or royal would be my vote, but I already told you that and its only cause they are what I want! :P Tiffany-x
Or a nice Woma Python they are goegeous and not that big either. But a Brazilian Rainbow Boa is perfect as they don't grow no bigger then 5 - 7 ft and the temps for them are about the same as a cornsnake but they need alot of humidity which is not a problem just buy a fogger from maplin for £15 and thats the humidity sorted . |

If im right in thinking you mean an Irian Jaya, then that is a capret python. The Jungle Jaguars are nice too. |

Posted - 23/11/2010 : 22:30:30 I do have to say king as they look awesome or a rosy boa :3 or another small boa. You don't want a royal, their fat somehow even though people stress about them not eating. Would hate to see the size of one that ate every meal.
Carpet python wouldn't go well if you had laminate flooring. Though they are pretty. |
