Posted - 10/09/2010 : 23:36:41 The price on royals is well down at the moment, last year a baby mojave would be about 500 quid. One thing about royals is they are not overly cheap, co doms get a lot cheaper as the years go on because you can make them so easily. That's also the reason things like albinos hold their value, because you NEED 2. About 10 years ago, or whenever bob clark first sold one, they were about 25k, now they are 500-1k for an adult. 3 years ago, or whnever, the black eyed leucistic sold for 25k, now they are about 2k. Co doms depreciate much faster.
You don't need the same morph to create more co doms, but, you do if you want to create the super version. |

Posted - 10/09/2010 : 22:29:56 ahh that explains alot..... but i personaly thought it was a bit pricey but at the same time was'nt sure!.... so the question is wot would YOU pay for a snake of that discription? (a fair price for seller and buyer)
so basicaly a mojave is good news for breeders with it been co-dominant? (if they can find a female!) i'm guessin this is hence the price? |

Posted - 09/09/2010 : 11:32:02 co dominant is the type of trait, there are 3 types, recessive, dominant and co dominant. Recessive is things like albino, anery, Axanthic, pied, etc. You need 2 to make any trait show. Dominant traits only need the one, putting a dominant to a normal will give you 50% of the dominant trait. Co dominants work the same as dominants, to a point, put a co dominant to a normal and you will get 50% of the babies as the dominant trait. However, put a co dominant to a co dominant, ie a Mojave to a Mojave, you get a super form of the trait, a super Mojave, or, better known as Blue eyed leucistic. Put a BEL to a normal and ALL the babies will be mojaves. |

Posted - 09/09/2010 : 09:36:15 what does co dominant mean? |

Posted - 09/09/2010 : 00:50:42 its not a bad price, mojaves are a co dominant, so prices will continue to fall quite rapidly, it mostly depends on what you are happy to pay! |
