Hi

My name is Kathy and I live in West Yorkshire with my fiance, our 3 kids and a houseful of animals. I breed rats for pet and show, and have just (as of yesterday) bought two cornsnakes - a female candy cane and a male amel. We have been considering getting a snake for some time but have finally got round to it. It seems advice is conflicting in many areas of their care, so I thought it would be a good idea to get on some species specific forums for advice.

Lovely to meet you all - will go start posting in the relevant areas now.

Kathy

Welcome Kathy. I may be living in the south but I am half-Yorkshire and would love to live up there. Where abouts are you in West Yorkshire? You have now joined the best forum around - with lots of experienced owners happy to give their adive and support (and lots of us newbies willing to chip in as well!). Friendship and fun are just added bonuses! Am assuming you have been given the most important advice to a new owner - to leave your snakes alone in their vivs for a week, no handling or feeding, just changing the water and smoothingthe substrate so they get used to your smell. I know it is hard but it is essential for them to get over the stress of the move and get used to you. Two corns at once - lucky you!! How old are your corns? Are they in different vivs? Cant wait to see some pics of them! xxx

I love most of Yorkshire, but this part of West Yorkshire is not my favourite lol. However it's promising that there are others up this way!
