Hi All,
new to the forum and new to snake keeping! (only had the snake a few months) and already have a problem!!!!!!! Hoping someone can give some hints/tips!!
Posted a message on the facebookgroup about finicky snake, thankfully that resolved but now face a much bigger problem!!! at some point this morning MY SNAKE ESCAPED!!!!!!!
He is a Carolina corn and only a baby, just over the length of an A4 piece of paper and no wider than 1cm. We have turned the room he is kept in upside down and have checked every tiny crevise going but no luck (even lifted the tv and taken the sofa apart!)
Any one able to offer some clue as to the next step?? i live in a flat so its all one level and there would pretty much be free access to most rooms with LOTS of places for him to hide.
Any ideas on enticing him out????? not due a feed until the weekend.
Any help would be great!!!!!!

hi all and cheers for the hints and best wishes, tried the bottle traps also a friend suggested cardboard tubes with tissue in them and tupperware containers with 2mm of water in them and a hole cut in the lid (tape round edges to stop sharp sides) but finally found him today as i was about to get in the bath he was sat in the cupboard under the sink next to the bubble bath!!! managed to get hold of him and return him to his viv which a much stronger lock and more vigilance on the kids is now in place!!! he ddidn't look impressed mind!!!! wasn't interested in the pinkie in the bottle but we put it in the viv(it hadn't long been in the bottle) and when we left the room he was happy to devour it. Anyone know of signs i should look for to tell if he has experienced any untoward effects of his escapade??? |

just wanted to know why people put a mouse in the bottle trap thing will the snake still be after it if it isnt moving? |

he'll probaly turn up sometime, i have a bearded dragon that escaped twice - found him under the radiator.i know somone who lost a snake beneath the floorboards so hopefully there are no holes in/around the room that you lost him/her in. |

I lost my snake the day after I got him he was missing for about an hour or so but found him under my bed THANK GOD. |

and look anywhere that generates heat,like friges,cookers,pipes even in pc's and dont forget to look high aswell as low they are amazing climbers.they dont usaly go far so search the immediate area well and this may sound stupid but are you sure it not in the viv under the substrate. |

really easy to do. place them along skirting boards with a mouse inside and wait. you could also place flour near doors and crevises obiously if it gets disturbed you know where your snake has been. good luck. |
