Hi everyone. My name is Joel and my son, Ollie ,has just got his first corn snake (a Carolina) a few days ago. He is 7 (my son!) and has been mad on snakes, crocs, lizards, anything like that for as long as I can remember.

Until we got Snape (the snake - named after Professor Snape from Harry Potter) I have been pretty freaked out by snakes to be honest but I have found myself totally un-phased by him and have no problems with him. I guess this is because he is only little (about 5 months old) so I am hoping I will grow with him, so to speak.

Anyway the guy in the shop said he was a good feeder and in the pattern of feeding every Saturday so despite only having him for a few days he recommended that we try to keep him in this pattern and feed him, which we did yesterday and he ate no problems at all, which is great.

So hopefully I can bounce a few questions off of you lively people as and when and look forward to talking to you all.

Just one thing, the probe should be under the substrate on the mat.
