Had my cornsnake since friday last night he was out and looking round tonight hes hideing under the kitchen towel substrate just sitting on the heat mat not moveing is he ok?

Thanks for all the replys i put the new hides in last night as advised by you guys.had to desturb snakey a bit but he didnt seam to mind to much and then last night he was all around looking at everything.it was great to watch ive got my heat mat running through a stat and its under my really usefull box 1/4 of the floor space at 28

With regards to putting in the new hides, I would put them in as your snake has got to get used to them whenever you choose to put them in. This is just my opinion aand others on here may have different views.

Now i have another worry the hides i have are not very dark so im wanna get some new ones tonight is it ok puting them in wen im trying not to desturb in this first week?

yup new snakes tend to have a good inspect of their new surroundings then hide away for a few days , nothing to worry about , give it a week to settle , then have a short handling session :)

new snakes need a week to settle in (no handling or feeding)
