Hi Everyone,

My husband and I have recently purchased a Corn Snake, a Carolina. He is absolutely beautiful and we have called him Chops.

I am at work at the moment so cannot post a photo but will do when I am next at home.

I am sure I'll have fun reading the forum

LOL LOL Yeah Chops is another word for your face/mouth- for example a newborn baby is likely to have "Chubby Chops"!
When someone is a messy eater people say "you've got food all over your chops".

We thought about calling him Jaws but he isn't blue and doesn't swim...well unless forced if he has a bad shed ;-)

Lol guiltyspark, 'chops' is another way of saying your jaws/chin, so for example you might get chocolate smeared round your chops if you're a messy eater. You might not have heard that phrase yet

Chops is lovely LadyV

Hey and welcome. Chops is a cool name! Does it have any special significance?

I just like the way he drinks (silly I know) but his little face is so cute that I had to call him Chops!

How does his face being cute make you call him chops?

Thanks so much for all your lovely comments! We love him :D

It's a 'small' size snake cave made by exo terra. We bought him it to put moss in (it comes with some) for when he needs to shed as he isn't a very good shedder. Last time was very bad, he looked like a crusty wrinkly worm! He wouldn't go near it at first, couldn't get him to go in at all. Just left it there to let him get used to it. Once he shed, we gave it a few cleans with disinfectant and rubbed it with aspen and suchlike. Eventually he took to it. He's sleeping in it all the time now :) He's got so many different hides and plants and toys - we really spoil him!
