Hi there, not only new to this forum but new to snakes as well! Brought my first one home a couple days ago and just love it. I also have a three year old female tuxedo cat named Bonkers (name suits her)and a four year old Mangalarga Marchador gelding (Brazilian horse) named Diego. We had a few more horses and other critters, but we recently sold our farm, bought a house in town, and just moved in a few days ago.

We decided fish were going to be just too much work and hassle in town (went from well water which required no work to chloramines in town). So we did some research and I brought home our first snake, a corn snake and it is absolutely intriguing. As a kid I grew up in Southern Alberta with rattlesnakes around and loved them. My brother and I use to track them down for my grandpa.

I have always loved snakes and I have had a great time with this one.

I have a 17 yr old son that leaves this fall for university. He is taking the Police Studies for 2 yrs then applying for the RCMP. I have a great husband to be (getting married in 4 months). I am a water treatment operator at a regional water treatment facility. Basically I make drinking water for about 30,000 people. Love the job but don't like working with so many dangerous chemicals.

Well, guess that is about all for now. I will post some photos of our new snake in the photo section.
