Hi all! Ive wanted a snake since i was about 10 and now im a bit older (well, over 25 put it that way!) ive decided now would be a good time! Ive been reading as much information here and on the care sheet as i can over the past few days and have taken in a fair amount of it i think. I live in Bristol so i believe Lizard Zone (near Filton?) is a good place to get one from? (any recommendations welcome!) Hoping to go and have a look this weekend with a view to purchasing next weekend. Ive got a few other questions but realise this is probably not the best place to ask them. In the meantime i look forward to chatting to some of you and hope to learn lots!!

So i was working from home today so decided to go have a look in Reptile Zone. Came out with a full setup and a Sinaloan Milk Snake! Thanks to everyone who's given me advice and help so far. This really is an excellent forum! Ive put some pics in the photos section so go have a look and let me know what you think! He's called Munki by the way :)

Totally agree you need to get housing set up first - but that doesn't mean you can't buy a snake which you see and instantly fall in love with and collect it later :p

I'm excited for you, can't wait to hear how the visit goes lol!

Hello and welcome, great to hear you are only going to buy housing and get this set up before purchase of a snake, will wait in anticipation to find out what you choose, such a variety out there.

Hi Dan, welcome to the forum.

Thanks guys and gals!

There may be some purchasing at the weekend but im going to limit myself to the housing stuff only! I want to get it all set up and ready before i get the snake first really (especially as its my first time so may take longer!). Then when i get the snake it will be a nice, quick, easy transition for it and hopefully not too traumatic for either of us!

Id also just like to say what an awesome forum this is! Ive already asked some questions and have got nothing but friendly, helpful answers (despite missing an obvious sticky, v.embarassing!) A lot of the other forums i'm on are rather harsh and critical of newbies so i really appreciate the friendliness of this one!!

(Nicky i actually work in oxford despite living in bristol so drive past/through swindon everyday!)
