hello all, just got my first snake today..he/she is really good.
Got the snake from a pet shop with its new house.
Ive a question though, i have no heat mat, just a bulb. the temp is around 30 but im puzzled what to do at night because of the heat loss. thank you and nice site btw.

you leave the bulb on at night. Best idea is to get yourself an IR bulb not a pain in the backside at night time.

Do you have a guard for your bulb? Better safe than sorry!
I keep my leopard geckos with bulbs and no heat mats; they live in wooden vivs in a warm room so the heat loss overnight isnt too much.
I guess you'll need to monitor the night time temperatures for a while and if it drops too low then it might be idea to invest in a mat
