my sons corn snake is quite small at 2 years old he was 215g and 3 ft 3 when we rehomed him, he was fed on fuzzys and did not put on any weight at all with them, i was told by the lovely people on this site he should be on medium at least so he is now on small mice as couldnt move him up from fuzzys to medium, a week after 1 small mouse he has put on 3g, he has since fed on another small mouse with no probs, and there is only a minimal bulge so im keeping him on small for a while so he an adapt to the size then will move him up to medium

heya and welcome

a decent shop will let you have a look at the sizes of mice they stock so you can decide what's appropriate, i.5 times the snake's width at it's widest point is a guideline to the maximum size, fuzzy's are definitelytoo small though........i'm amazed it's managed to get to 4ft feeding on them lol

best to go down the shop and have a look at the sizes they stock, but yes fuzzies do sound far too small for it. May also be an idea to increase sizes gradually, moving from fuzzies to large is a bit of a jump so try a few mediums first then if all is going well try the it on large.

thanks she about 4cm the thickest part ove her so do you think i should give her large mice coz the person i got her off said that they where feeding her on fuzzys and i thought they where a bit small for her

if its fully grown probably Large mice, but the way to tell is you dont want to feed anything bigger tan 1.5 x the snakes width at the thickest point

and welcome to the forum
