We've just got our first corn snake and the breeder told us it was 10 weeks old. It's just over 2 foot long - is that right for it's age? I know they can grow to about 5 foot but if it's already 2 foot, how long before it's fully grown?
Thanx in advance.

I would have thought with records in a muddle it would be obvious it wasn't 10 weeks :/

He might have lied as younger ones tend to sell better than big ones maybe?

Definitely not 10 weeks. Maybe the guy had his records in a muddle?

If its healthy and happy then no biggie though.

Hi,

My corn is an early '09 and just over 2 foot long. She was originally in a 4 litre RUB so the pic you showed me looks identical length to my corn.
What does your corn weigh? I weighed mine last week and she was 80 grams.

Lovely looking snake BTW

I commented to the man we bought it off that the snakes he was showing us were bigger than I expected but he seemed genuine when he said it was 10 weeks. I wonder why he lied??? Thanx though everyone.

he looks around the same size ish as one of mine and he about a year old ish :D

He's definitely not 10 weeks old. My 12 week old little ones are about 11/12 inches long and your ones looks like the size I got my oldest ones when they were around 1 year.

I would certainly say that is a fair bit older than 10weeks.

I would say it is closer to a year old.

Here it is in the 4 litre 'really useful box' we were given with it which measures approx 14 inches x 9 inches.

10 weeks? If it is that long at 10 weeks it is not a corn, 2ft is more like the length one 10 months to a year old! They grow slowly throughtout their lives but normally finish growing a lot between 3-4 years old.

I would be somewhat surprised if this snake is 10 weeks old. But i suppose anything is possible, but the fact that it would be fed on small pinkies and growing like that over 10 weeks, I would be surprised.

Most of my 09's arent that size, they are smaller and just coming up to 12 months old.
