Ok i know this may be a silly question but i have seen comments on the photo forums about the saddles on snakes. Can some one please tell me what the saddle is please.

Well explained Kehhlyr !! Kellog has a strange half saddle two-thirds down his back that I hadnt even noticed until a forum member pointed it out in a photo!!

Some have a uniform coloured and shaped saddles, which the colour will vary depending on Morph (colour pattern) of the snake.

The first image is a snow corn, circled in red are his Saddles.




This next image is a BCI, I've circled saddles at different points along the body, because some snakes saddles change colour and size as they go down the body.


And this last one is a snake with no saddles.
