I have just bought a heatmat and it says on it to be put under viv or on back wall, can i still put it on floor under substrate plse. Just bought guard for light 2 hides digital therm/hy and lock. Cant ait till w.end to go and see him again. I am having a rescue from Proteus. Viv is wooden.

quite often the instructions are generic - to cover all set-ups - fitting to the side or back wall would be for other reps not snakes.

the main thing to look for with heatmats is that it doesn't say to fit underneath a viv and NEEDS AIRFLOW - such as the E-T rainforest mats.......

Heat mats generally go inside the viv covering approx 1/3 to 1/2 of the floor area.
