What are your thoughts on this? My room got a squirt with it today the febreeze stuff..

Not sure if this will affect snakes? the window was open at the time and the smell quickly went.

Hmm.

Gosh i have a Glade plug-in air freshner and that sprays its self every 10mins and i always spray my self every morning with Joop Jump or D&G..... In the same room right next to the snakes viv & rubs. . . . Ive been doing this since i have had my snakes in the bedroom and they seem fine

I don't tend to do much different in regards things like this, my snakes aren't where they stand a great chance of getting chemicals from smellies etc into the viv.

I'd be more worried about the fact they are nearly opposite my bathroom door, the day after a good baked bean curry...........

I have 2 teenage girls in the flat, the amount of hairspray that gets used in here is incredible sometimes, but there's also the sensible element to it. I don't see the issue with using sprays in the same room as a viv, obviously unless someone wanted to use the entire bottle and not have windows/doors open.

Excessive use of chemical sprays/smellies in a poorly ventilated room with ANY animal could potentially be bad.
A quick spray of your brut/lynx etc shouldn't cause any problems.

addition to the above......if its bad for the snake then its going to be bad for you! think about it..........lol.........poor old lab rats will tell you that...........food for thought eh??

I think we're all going a bit over the top here! I would say as long as you dont directly spray the animal (any animal) with anything then it should be fine to use most products in a normal way around the house! Corn snakes and indeed most types of snake when they are in the wild deal with things far worse than air freshener and deoderant! Air polution/water polution bush and forrest fires the list is endless. I'm not saying you shouldn't be careful but don't take it to extremes. Unless of course you are howard hughes and enjoy sterile living?.............Bet you never gave a second thought to the hamster/rat/gerbil/dog/cat etc and why are they any different?
I bet theres a few people out there who enjoy having a fag in and around the house????
Keep it in perspective................

tbh i never really sprayed anything in my room before i got the snakes so not much has really changed since getting them..although i do occassionally (once every few months) use window cleaner with the windows open and it only gets sprayed into some soapy water

Since we bought Slinx- I have banned ALL sprays from our room- because I thought that they would be bad for her..?

Im the same as that.
Nothing gets sprayed in my room.

Same again for me.

Ever since I started an animal collection I stopped spraying deodderant and any air freshners, the most I do is throw some talc on the floor when I hoover. Not sure if that would affect them though

There are vents in vivs.

I do. I hang out the window when spraying myself.

It's just short two squirts with the air freshener. not directed at the vivs, mainly on my sofa.

It's not a glade plug in, however I've got a motion sensor whatsit, but it doesn't even work.

I know that there have been concerns with the Glade plug-ins in the same room as reptiles. I would be careful personally not to use too much and not near the vivs.

Both were asleep and there was about 2 squirts, and it's not a daily thing just that mist n refresh stuff.
Just checking!
