The good news is I managed to catch Jake our cali king, the bad news is i've had to give him away

He's gotten even more aggressive since his life in the wild the past few weeks, and my parents are not happy with the fact we would have 3 snakes in the house so unfortunately he's gone to our rspca reptile expert for rehoming, so at least we'l know he'l have a happy life, if he calms down!

:)

Jo, I don't want you to be upset about it. Look at it this way: for whatever reason, this snake needed to be re-homed. You did choose the best option you could think of at the time, and if you are concerned at all, make contact with the guy and ask what is happening with the snake. Any problems, let us know, we CAN and WILL help if needed.

I am so glad you found him safe and sound, at least that is a worry off your mind (and you can put your floor boards back down), but I am so sorry you have had to get rid of him. I am sorry you have been forced to do it, but it sounds as though you made the right decision and have done the best by him...placing him with the RSPCA reptile expert. If they know what they are talking about then you know that he will go to a good home.

We live in Hull in East Yorkshire. We have just custom built a brand new viv for the corns and at the time wouldnt have the room to build a new one for the king so he'd of been back in his 2ft X 1ft tank that he escaped from hehe

I'd have taken him if I had known, and wouldn't have minded paying for transporting him.

Whereabouts are you?

he probably would of calmed down after some food and a few weeks of rest,i would of kept him and rehomed a corn but you did what you thought was best and thats your decision.Where abouts are you?

They was fine when we got the 2 corns but they never thought what would happen when Jake came back

If your parents didn't want you to have three snakes why did you buy 3 snakes?
Jo-And-Danny Posted - 03/12/2009 : 15:06:44
Yeah i don't know anybody on here that lives locally, and my parents would of probably took him anywhere and anything could of happened to him

We're both so gutted about it, but we're not really experienced owners and we're still learning about our snakes and wouldn't of felt confident enough in trying to tame him, as he was starting to strike for us and get viv/food defensive before he escaped.

We though it'd be best for him to have a more experienced owner, rather than us try and keep him and none of us be happy

I am sure somebody on here would of taken him from you, i know i would but i am guessing i would not be close enough to you anyway!

I am glad you found him, but it really is a shame you could not keep him.
