do garden snails hybernate? 
ha im only asking because i have what i think is a garden snail, on my stair wall, its been there for like 3 weeks ish now and i wanna know if its dead  or hybernating lol
any ideas people?  |

ohh i get the bit about the mucous now, it would actually be covering the enterance of where the snail would usually go in and out of the shell ha i am a tad slow, forgive me 
rofl i do not want an angry snail on my hands, i think i will leave it on my wall, not doing me any harm so

Snails can hibernate for up to 3 years. I have a GAL that has been in hibernation for about 18 months.
The only way to see the hard bit of mucus is if you were to remove it off the wall.
If you get a water sprayer and put lukewarm water in it, and spray it, then you'll know. That invariably wakes them up. But they will be angry for being woken up so soon.

ok cheers guys, ive just taken a look at it, i cannot see any definate mucous covering, but it is securely attatched to the wall, im not going to risk taking it off the wall just incase i rip anything lol
