Heeii guys , moving toby into his new cage this weekend (CANT WAIT!!) and i`m just wondering what heat source he will need. We`re moving him into a 36x18x18 wooden viv. We`re guessing he will need a bulb (with a cage of course!) but not really sure what else.

tar.

i have both bilbo and lizzie in woodern viv and i have the heatmat inside the vivs. i do have a light in them but thay are only 15w not for heat but so that i can see them. but they do give out abit of heat so i would put any light the same end as the heat mat. if your snake is only young put in loads of hides and plant cover....

36 inches is fine for an adult corn- how big is Toby? corns prefer belly heat so a heatmat would be better than a bulb, attatched to a stat of course, and monitored by digital thermometers.

Essentials include-
a hide at each end
water dish
substrate- aspen, beech chippings, newspaper, shredded paper etc.
thermometers (ideally 2)
stat
heatmat

Additional bits-
climbing branches
vines
logs
rocks
silk or plastic plants
a background for the viv

hope this helps.

you could just use a heatmat but put it in the viv, someone on here with a wooden viv will be able to help you more
