Hi guys!
I was wondering if any members own a pet shop or know anything about starting one up. I am considering opening a shop specialising in reptiles and designer doggy goods! I have a Bsc (hons) animal behaviour and welfare and a city and guilds in pet store management certificate, I have started a business plan but any advice would be much appreciated, even if you think its a bad idea let me know lol!!! Thanks guys

There are also Cascade and BAS close by that sell reptiles, but they concerntrate mainly on fish. I have a huge interest in dogs as well as reptiles and would like to have a doggy boutique section and not be focused just on the reptiles. Is viper and vine the one in prestwich?

it would have to be something extra special, because viper and vine are only a stones throw from Bury.

sounds like you've got good, relevant qualifications, there's approval from the local council to apply for and what's the competition like in that area?

Thanks for the support guys :) I'll give it a shot but I'm not sure about banks lending me money lol! If it does work out and I need staff I'll come here first :)

i dont own a pet shop but i work in one and have done for 6 years, i think ur idea is great! there are alot of pets shops that are closin down tho, due to larger pain in the back side pets stores out there and also they dont know how to look after animals and its worryin as their now sellin reptiles. but in our shop sales on reptile foods and bits and bobs are great!
