reading back on housing more than one snake together i wonder how people who have four five or more herps house them.Do they have seperate vivs for each or is there a special setup for them.when i think about it seperate vivs with all they thermostats and lighting could put a fair dent on the national power grid lol can anyone advise me on a diy setup.much appreciate any advice

Apologies for the thread hijack but why won't the B1ME dinning stat work with a mat? Is it different to the habistat dimming thermostat.

I have my mat on a dimming thermostat (used to have a light and mat on the same stat but now don't use the light) and it seems to work OK, or am I due an early mat failure?

the b1me won't work with a heat mat because its a dimming stat :(

eeji , those small fully sealable air tight tubs you have there , do you use those for hatchlings .

Do you drill both ends for vents etc .

Have a few of those of differing sizes , usually have food in them in the fridge :P

What size are those ?

Cheers .

my set up is very similar to the top shelf set up in the pic posted by Mnementh but there are only 3 and they are all the same size.. will post a pic when i get home from work for you

i havent really looked too far ahead but im thinking il end up with something similar to the bottom shelf in the same pic
eeji Posted - 14/09/2009 : 18:39:29
i have 24 snakes here (with 2 more ordered) and all are in appropriate sized tubs housed in a home made shelving unit heated by mats. This will eventually be replaced because when the little ones get bigger i'll have no room. I'll get a pic later on tonight and post up how they are arranged
Mnementh Posted - 14/09/2009 : 17:57:31
Okay just took some photo's , here is how mine is set up for now .

This is the shelf space I have and how vivs and rubs are set out .You can seee in the pic , both vivs on bottom shelf have their own stats which you can see on top left of each viv .
The rubs share one 46" x 6" wide heat strip , the mat stat can be seen affixed to the shelf .

These are a couple of pics in the rubs , each rub would have aspen substrate , watering bowl , 2 places to hide 1 warm 1 cold , piece of Mopani wood and a plant .

Hope that helps :)
