Posted - 06/09/2009 : 18:11:00 As Phil says 3 hours won't cause a problem, we've not long had the house rewired - total nightmare power off for anything from 5 mins to 5 hours for a week. I just didn't feed any of the snakes and chucked foil blankets over the Vivs to keep as much heat in as i could. Didn't have any issues. |

Even if it's longer then you should still be ok, the only time to even get slightly concerned is if the snake has not long eaten.
Even so, provided that the viv isn't anywhere that it'll get cold quickly then a hot water bottle with warm water inside will do the trick.
Some people do have emergency power ready though, I personally have 2 leisure batteries that are ready for use. 1 Power inverter and 2 leisure batteries can give me about 8-10 hours of heating inside 3 vivs. I'll never need it though, as part of the agreement with our power company means that if the power is off for more than 6 hours (I think) then they'll get a portable power unit down to us. |
