Just noticed on your sig that you have bees! I know the govt are encouraging us to set up homes for bees after the recent drop in population and it's something I've been thinking about. But I have absolutely ZERO idea what to do. Can you point me to some decent online resources?

you're right inkie, honey bees are dying out, and when they go, we will too. 1/3rd of the food we eat is pollinated by bees, and they are crucial to any eco-system.

the best thing I can recommend you do is find a local bee-keeping club or a center that runs beekeeping courses, and set about getting involved from there. there is alot involved in keeping bees, so you'd be on the internet forever trying to learn it all. also, members of clubs and societies often have hives including bees available for sale, at a fraction of the cost they would be commercially.

the main problems for bees at the moment are diseases- American Foulbrood is currently wiping out 1 in 3 hives over here at the moment- worrying times!

kehhlyr- no honeycomb unfortunately as we dont have any wire-free frames atm, but we do have 56 jars of premium clover honey! best you'll ever taste! If you are nice to me, I may send you some!
