Posted - 22/08/2009 : 09:59:46 Think it is a fantastic idea as long as you give yourself enough time to get confident in yourself and the snake before taking it to the school. Snakes definitely need some good press atm, best way for kids to learn about them and learn not to be scared is to start when they are young and at school. Well done! xxx |

I have a really chiled adult who used to live in the zoo and be handled by the public till stoooopid health and saftey rules meant they can't let you touch a snake anymore. He would be perfect as a class pet if your interested? |

thats 20 years worth of kids educated about how cool reptiles are, and they're not something to be feared
Good luck, it sure beats a hamster!

Posted - 21/08/2009 : 09:47:03 Good for the kids! People need to respect snakes, not fear them. Not everyone has to like snakes but they are very stereotyped and mis understood IMO.
Just make sure no one drops it |

Posted - 21/08/2009 : 08:55:00 Oooh, lucky kids! I actually had a corn snake as a class pet when I was growing up! Mrs. Booth's 5th grade class, we had a corn snake named Twister and I got to take her home over Christmas break one year and that was the start of it all for me! :) I've loved snakes ever since! Good for you! ;) |
