Posted - 19/08/2009 : 01:51:11 As you may know I have 22 new hatchlings al in their own separate takeaway tub. I clean them and within an hour they have tossed their water everywhere and the kitchen roll is soaking wet. Two questions:
1. How often should I clean them out - I do it when poo is present so usually 2 days after a feed which is currently every 4-5 days?
2. Will they get enough water from the condensation on the top of the box caused by them spilling it everywhere?
They all seem perfectly fine although are often lacking in somewhere to hide as they soak the kitchen roll! |

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 09:23:54 maybe try putting the water in twice a day for 10-15 minutes so it doesnt get knocked. wet kitchen towel will cause the humidity to be too high and will cause problems. |

Posted - 19/08/2009 : 09:19:40 We'll i check mine over almost every day looking for sheds etc, change the kitchen roll every 2-3 days, more if it's soaked or dirty.
I've put dried out spagnum moss in some of their boxes for them to hide in,(ran out of wax worm tubs and the loo rolls kept getting wet and soggy) seams to be working really well they like to hide under it and it helps stop the water dish tipping over too. |
