Gone up to feed him tonight and hes gone from his viv
I last got him out to handle on tuesday, yesterday I just changed his water so he could have been missing since tuesday evening.

I'm practically tipping the house upside down with Hannahb trying to find him. I've put a bottle trap next to the skirting boards with a brained pinkie, I'm getting ready to put flour round the bottom of the doors.

Any other tips?
Plus how long can he survive without water?

also check your washing machine sure she'll find this thread soon..

also check wet damp washing if you leave it around, we got it in piles in the kitchen LOL.

Don't give up and keep up posted!

dont panic! i think everyone on here has lost a snake at some point, or will do in the future, but you WILL find him!

he's not really lost, you just dont know where he is... leave some water dishes around the skirting boards for him, he'll be fine.
Flatpack63 Posted - 07/08/2009 : 16:39:05
I'm sure he'll be ok. He did manage to post on facebook.
Seriously though, I hope he turns up well.

we totally upturned the room.. i checked the pockets on all the clothes and emptied out the wardrobe.. we havent been able to check behind the wardrobe as its attatched to the wall so will have to leave traps near there..
will be checking the wash bins and the sofas next i think..
fingers crossed he turns up soon *fingers crossed*
thanks for all the help guys and gals - much appreciated

Have you checked whether there is any way for him to get into storage bed, into mattress etc? I know my greatest fear with Kellog is that he will find a way into sofa, but he is a lot bigger than Lucien so hopefully we wouldnt have as much trouble getting him out. Sorry I cant think of any helpful advice but will be thinking of you all. xxx

Good luck in finding him mate! I lost mine 3 days after getting it and found it a week later under a traffic cone in my back garden! The same day my mum had got me a new one lol! This is a good excuse to get another snake lol!

Good luck i no it is a bad time!!
Brookestar Posted - 07/08/2009 : 10:19:21
i know it sounds stupid but have you removed all the chippings? my brothers corn had "escaped" and he checked all the chippings and we couldnt see it. i thought whilst he out i would clean the faun out and what did i find his but his corn somehow had escaped being caught whilst checking the substrate
hillzi Posted - 07/08/2009 : 10:05:44
I really hope he turns up soon! don't give up. I know some people have lost snakes that turn up months later!!
lucifer Posted - 07/08/2009 : 09:53:34
Completely gutted the room he was in out, there is nothing in there except a storage bed (checked) wardrobe (checked) and his viv on a table. We've put traps in the room last night and left it untouched but no luck.

Unfortunately my house is quite old and big so I don't have the first idea where he could have gone. We're just checking all the warm dark places and leaving traps.
Brookestar Posted - 07/08/2009 : 08:49:25
i find mine under my cupboard but they way i found mine was slightly unethical keep looking mate. he will turn up
Stumpy Posted - 07/08/2009 : 05:58:17
You should also check behind the fridge / freezer, as they sometimes hide there for the warmth and darkness.
Kehhlyr Posted - 07/08/2009 : 03:21:24
Just be careful where you're walking, and check everything. Kaz put her snake in the washing machine once.

Because of their preference for small areas they can get everywhere.
Was his viv near anywhere else that could have warm places?

I've found mine curled up under the wardrobe on the heated floorboards, and my niece found the other curled up inside her duvet cover on her bed. TV's can get warm under them as well, Try what scorpioleah suggested, make the rooms dark, and turn the heating up, hopefully he'll decide to put an appearance in.

So sorry to hear it Lucifer, do hope he puts in an appearance soon - cant imagine how worried you and Hannah are. Wish there was more we could do than sit and wait for news! xxx

your not a terrible owner. Its something that most people have been through at one point in their snake keeping experience.

Im sure you will find him
what i found usefull was keeping the room isis was in dark, i shut the blinds on my windows and after a while she came out.
Mick Posted - 06/08/2009 : 20:06:48

Last place I'm checking now is the boiler, otherwise there's nowhere I can think of.
