Posted - 16/07/2009 : 22:21:56 Okay who would suggest a good price for a 30x30x30 used exo terra viv..
I hope its enough to buy equipment for buying materials for a new vivarium;
what wood size would be appropiate for a 4ft x 2ft?
and would a 2ftish snake do okay in it if I packed it out?
if not I can reduce it to 3ft x 2ft.
I'd need wood (ofc) runners; vents screws and perspex or glass (which is better?) a lock....
what can be expected to pay for all this?
any tools aswell; I take it screwdriver, hammer and a saw would be okay but anything else? we have no power tools.
Thanks a lot! |

Posted - 16/07/2009 : 23:58:46 I'd need wood (ofc) - depends on size, i think its about £20 for the largest sheet of contiboard B&Q sell
runners - about £6 from fleabay
vents - no more than £3 for a pair on fleabay
screws - £3ish
and perspex or glass - (glass is better)no more than £20 for toughened glass (Mine were a bit smaller and cost £12 for the 2)
a lock.... - Think Paid about £4 from fleabay again.
You may also want door handles, £2.25 delivered from, yes you guessed it, Fleabay
You will also need silicone sealant for seal everything up, evo stick contact adhesive to attach runners, although I have heard of peeps using the silicone sealant, but i wanted sumit stronger
Tools
Get B&Q or whoever to cut your wood to size, their saws are better than yours lol. Comes home like a flatpack
Drill
Screwdriver
Holesaw for vents, although a jigsaw can be used, but you get a better finish with a holesaw.
That should do it , unless I forgot sumit.
Hope this helps. Parts maybe cheaper elsewhere, but I am lazy so just got everything from the bay

Posted - 16/07/2009 : 22:58:47 you could make a 3ftx1.5ft in 1 piece of conti and a piece of hardboard for the back. if they do conti board 8ftx2ft then again 1 piece would do it mate. |
