So it would be interesting to hear what you guys do when you take your animals out of the viv.
I for instance have an area in the house where they can't escape and I set up little obstacle courses for them. They really seem to appreciate being able to explore with no interruption, they have things to climb up and hides set up that they use if they wish.
It's great to see them moving freely and doing their own thing. They even seem to have learned that when they've had enough and want to warm up the climb up the wicker sofa and sit on my lap and I pop them back into their vivs.
Of course sometimes they sit there and don't do anything, but it's great to give them the choice.
