I had something very similar happen Jason and for me it was after having kept snakes for years. I finally got my first tag and it was from Kellog. He decided I'd been starving him because I'd changed his prey size to mediums.

I feed mine on a towel on the floor and as soon as I went to get him out of the box I weigh him in I knew there might be trouble. I put him down with one hand and he immediately focused on the other, which was hanging about a foot off the floor. The speed he moved was amazing and I barely had time to register it. I remember saying 'Kellog, no', as if that made a difference , and immediately offered him a mouse which he struck and coiled as though it was the last mouse on earth. I was VERY nervous putting him back in his viv but he was fine and has behaved ever since.

I know the rule of the 'tag club', no photo no bite, so got my iPad and took this.

It wasn't until I looked at the photo that I realised he'd bitten me twice and, when I zoomed in, that he'd left a tooth in me !

Loving the feeding methods Wheels and Razee .

Lol, Wheels, I've got the mental picture of the catapult feeding sport now...

There IS another method - remote control toy car feeding :-)

It's not my invention - I read it somewhere, can't remember where now, but suspect it was a way to get royals to eat, lol. It goes like this:

1. Take one small remote control toy car.
2. Tie a string to the back of it, for easy retrieval afterwards.
3. Load the mouse on top of it, in such a way, that it overhangs, so that the snake doesn't damage his teeth on the car, when he strikes.
4. Position snake on the floor. ( though you might get bitten, as you've just handled the mouse, lol )
4.a. Detach the snake from your arm, position him back on the floor.
5. Put the mouse loaded toy car on the floor, and slowly drive it pass the snake.
6. When the snakes strikes, it's likely the car will overturn - this is where the string comes in - you then gently pull on the string, to retrieve the car, without getting bitten, whilst snakey is busy chomping down on the mouse. Genius.
7. Good luck trying to get the now thoroughly food orientated snake back in the viv :-)

Yalovit, we really need to see pics, with lots of ( your ) blood and gore, preferably, AND - NO CHEATING, using ketchup! ;-)

Catapult feeding sounds fun; would you catapult the mouse or get a lovely assistant to hold the mouse while you catapult the snake for a flying snack Could become a competitive sport....

I imagine it going like this:
1. Position snake
2. Walk to catapult distance and load catapult
3. Put down catapult and rush back to reposition snake
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 three times
5. Put mouse in rub
6. Put snake in rub
7. Leave them to get to know each other better

And yes, photo proof is required to validate your claim.

Surprising how little it actually hurts though isn't it :p
