Posted - 05/11/2014 : 19:10:51 I have done some research and decided that, even in the world of snakes, my Wheels is not a genius!
My evidence is as follows: 1. When he feeds, he coils so hard he pulls the mouse from his mouth and cannot find it again - even though it is still nestled safely in his coils 2. When he hides, he doesn't realise that only his head is under the aspen.... 3. He only uses his damp hide AFTER he has shed 4. He has absolutely no grasp of gravity and its effect
We still love him, special though he is |

Posted - 22/11/2014 : 13:00:25 Inca is similar - when I get her mouse to her she will do a brilliant strike and coil...but then proceed to lose it and when she does find it...she will either devour it back wards (and once she tried to eat it sideways lol... or she holds on to the head for about 20 minutes before she decides to eat it lol.

Posted - 06/11/2014 : 07:47:15 I'm sure it's a snake thing, to 'christen' a newly cleaned viv by pooing in it .
Storm regularly loses his mouse but the strangest I had was Casper lying for ages just 'hugging' his chick before he decided to eat it.

Squidwood, my newbie hatchling, is the opposite - very cultured
He insist on wiping his mouth for ages, after swallowing a pinkie. He'll eat, yawn to rearrange everything, then proceeds to wipe the sides of his mouth carefully on the kitchen towel... |

Posted - 05/11/2014 : 19:51:08 Ha ha, that reminds me of someone... Baz has lost a mouse ( and we're talking a Jumbo ) in her coils many times now, and was getting quite distraught when she couldn't find it :-)
She did also try to launch herself off my hand on several occasions, and yes, she likes using moist hide after a shed... though I reckon many snakes do, as the new skin is still very soft.
