Posted - 23/10/2014 : 00:56:47 I know some have put wooden shelves in vivs what type of wood and where from?, is it easy to get them screwed/glued in? i dont want the trixie tables, its for Storm, i want to get him a viv, he is always trying to get out of large faun and i think maybe a viv with extra climbing space might make him happier, i did look for the double viv with the hamster tubes that p@h used to have. but cant find it anywhere |

Posted - 08/11/2014 : 16:20:16 Thanks for all input, i ended up getting a rub, decided to make the shelves as light as possible, and since its top opening, it would need easy removal for cleaning, so have gone with magnets, and thin wooden shelves, helps Storm is so light! |

Posted - 07/11/2014 : 23:00:51 I bought a laminate shelf from wiles )beach to match the viv) I used varnished beading to make a lip to hold substrate on. I screwed it on using brackets and then sealed it all with aquarium sealant. Rosie loves it, spending most of her time up there. |

I think you can get vivs set up for Bearded Dragons with shelves already fitted (well, already included for fitting when you build it anyway)...or maybe find a cheap/free viv (or even a kitchen unit) on gumtree and re-use the panels? The drawer sounds like a good idea, it is probably the same stuff!
lol, my dog Lyla is too protective of ALL HER reptiles, she wouldnt let me part with them!! Good idea about gumtree even better would be freecycle, sadly i think it will have to be after Christmas, or be his pressie hmmm.... |

Posted - 23/10/2014 : 17:15:47 Any input is very welcome, i feel bad the way he is always trying to get out, if he gets more room and is STILL not happy, anyone want a hoggie? lol na, i'd still love him, just a little bit less.....
You made me think about those extra bits from your viv, they would be about the size of a small drawer i dont use, could just chop it up |

Posted - 23/10/2014 : 15:39:29 I used the excess bits of wood that came with my 4ft viv for Masuka.
But screwing them in was easy peasy, just got some of those L shaped metal bits to attach them, took the OH a couple of mins only.
Sorry, that probably isn't much help to you!
