Posted - 11/05/2013 : 14:21:25 Normally when people increase food, they go from one pinkie per feed to two per feed. Personally I feed my snakes two pinkies every 5-6 days when they are over 15g or so.
If one pinkie isn't leaving much of a feeding bump then it's time to give them two. Just wait for the first pinkie to get 1/3 of the way down their body then offer the second |

I have been asking similar questions myself recently.
There are two things to consider:
1) The snakes weight.
2) and more importantly its girth or width. You should never feed your snake anything that is more than 1.5 times the widest part of its body. Its like the golden rule. A good thing to look for is if there is a visible bump after feeding. If not it is a good time to move up to the next size prey.

Very helpful advice and a lot more detail. It will also explain about the weights.
Hope that helps. |
