My corn snake has stayed in his hide for a couple of days now, just abit worried and wondered if anyone had any ideas why. Thanks |

Maybe he was always on the go because he was exploring and now he is acting more normally. Most corns spend a huge amount of time hiding, or perhaps as others have suggested he is going to shed soon which can make even the most confident active corns a little shy.  |

I have a new corn. Had her 4 weeks now, after an initial explore she has left the hide only to drink & poop. We have seen her out once in all that time & she's refusing food, so is taking her time to settle.
So it could be your new baby is still settling in & if in blue they often hide.
They are also very good at being sneaky, my adult only leaves his hides when we are not in the room, if we catch him on the move he stays dead still & pretendshe isn't there till we leave. |

He could very well be going blue Jamie....or it could be that he is finally settling in and this is more his normal behaviour, before he's been moving around more getting to know his new home and everything that goes on.
You say that the temp in the warm end is about 27 to 29oC....is the mat statted and are you monitoring the temp with a digital thermometer?

It could be that he's going to shed. It could also be that he's still settling in, 3 weeks isn't very long for him to be in a new home. He might be coming out and exploring at night when you don't see. |

He last eat last Sunday so I will feed him again tommorow, I wouldn't know when his last shed was as I've only had him 3 weeks. With the teperature I've got a heat mat one end and that is staying at about 27 to 29 •c and the other end is about 22•c. |

Lots of corns spend all their time in their hides Jamie. If I didn't get mine out to handle and feed I wouldn't see them!
As Witchy and Natalie mentioned, could he be coming up to a shed? If so, he will hide away because he is virtually blind and therefore feeling very vulnerable.
What are the temps in his viv? Just wondering if that could be an issue.

My snake was hiding in his hide for over a week because he was going 'blue' and shed a few days ago. Could this be the case for yours? |

Has he just eaten? Mine stay in hide for nearly 48 hours after eating.
When did he last shed? Again mine will hide when blue.
How are his temps? |
