You could use it to feed him in as well, if you were planning on feeding him outside of his home. Just keep a close eye on him when he's in it !

There is loads of great info on things like shedding etc. Checkout the 'General Keeping Information - Stickies' section. If you can't find your answer there, or using the search option, then don't hesitate to ask .

Yeah all sorted am just guna use the other one to put him in when I clean him out soo I havnt wasted money, I will be asking many more question like when he sheds and things lol
Kellog Posted - 12/04/2013 : 19:02:37
So glad you've rehoused him already. Means he won't be disturbed with another move and you'll sleep easier knowing he is more secure. It really is amazing watching them eat .

No need for the thanks, it's what we're here for . Just keep asking the questions!

I think that's a good idea, the last thing you want is a wandering snake !

As you only got him on Wednesday I would leave him til next Wednesday before you feed or handle him. Snakes need time to get over the stress of the move and settle into their new surroundings. Don't worry about this missed feed, it won't bother him at all and hopefully it'll mean he will be nice and hungry when you do come to feed him .

If there is any way to escape a snake will find it .....and a lose lid sounds as though its asking for trouble. Whatever happens DON'T tape it down! Not sure what you can do to secure it....other than put something heavy on top, which isn't very safe. Hopefully someone who has more experience with faunariums can give you better advice.....if they'll just stop arguing about diffused and bloodreds .

Yeah I will because I really want to no now, but he's hiding at the moment, yeah he could of ment that lol. Thanks

He might have meant its a Diffused ? bloodreds are a selectively bred diffused they are much darker and more of a literal bloodred colour so maybe he meant its "normal diffused" eg just a diffused not a bloodred lol some people confuse things by referring to all diffuseds as bloodreds but theres a difference welcome to the forum get some piccys up asap lol
anthony_crow12 Posted - 10/04/2013 : 12:10:27

Hi and welcome to the forums
Sounds like your setup (7w heat mat, microclimate mat stat, faun with kitchen roll) is pretty much the same as mine and my temps are fine with my digital thermometer. Sure you'll be fine when yours arrives
anthony_crow12 Posted - 09/04/2013 : 20:53:20
Thanks nat just a bit worries but my mind can rest not the digital one should be here tomorrow or thursday, I have just getting him today he's a normal blood red corn :D
NatalieC Posted - 09/04/2013 : 19:39:58
Thats good, digital ones are much better. I also have a dial one and it says a totally different temperature to the digital thermometer. And kitchen roll is fine
anthony_crow12 Posted - 09/04/2013 : 19:29:46
