Here's the original thread if anyone missed/is interested:
http://thecornsnake.co.uk/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=28514

I want to start by saying Goonie was perfectly healthy; 4 years old and just under 500g - not over or underweight in the slightest.Nothing wrong with her setup or the room she was in at all.

Thursday morning (4th) she laid 13 healthy looking eggs quite happily.
Friday there were still 4 eggs inside her, quite far up, so we went to the vets for some oxytocin.
Saturday the ones closest to her head seemed to have moved down a little, but the bottom ones still looked to be going nowhere. Back to the vets in the morning to 'deflate' the remaining eggs then a massage with no results... another shot and instructions to come back the next day if nothing has happened.

Nothing happened.
Mr Vet said the best option left now is to go in and take them out. I agreed; he's the vet after all and I'd want really not to leave anything that could rot inside her in there for any longer than they already had been.

She never woke up.

Sleep tight, beautiful Goonie... I'm sorry

I know its no consolation but little Inky is giving our family so much joy.

I know nothing I say will change how you feel, but you did EVERYTHING you could for Goonie. She was a lovely, well cared for snake and as soon as you realised there was an issue you got her help. Unfortunately it wasn't to be . You know that this has happened to other people on this forum, and it doesn't seem to matter how experienced or inexperienced a breeder you are, or anything like that....it just happens.

I think it's a lovely idea to have her with orange and red pansies, her colours. Goonie was very blessed to have had you as her owner and she will, in turn, have blessed your life .

Xxx

<big hug> I know how stressed you must have been when she went into surgery, having had the same thing with Saphira recently. Like the others said, you did everything you could... Very, very sorry that she didn't make it out of surgery. RIP, Goonie. :(

Sorry to hear this. The mother to the clutch of mine that hatched a few weeks ago did exactly the same as your female with the same outcome.
