I've been using a Habistat Mat stat for my corn & and the temps are fairly stable, only varying slightly as the stat comes on and off. But I've just got a Microclimate stat for my Carpet and the temps are peaking at 31 but dropping to 24/25. I want to get in there and try messing with the probe position but don't want to disturb him as he's still in the 7 day rule. Has anyone else experienced such a wide range in temps ???????

As above. I had exactly the same problem with the Microclimate on/off stat. Since I changed to pulse stat, I haven't looked back. They're Microclimate as well, but they keep the temps really well. I wouldn't go to on/off stat again.

Get yourself a pulse stat now and run the mat off it and when you put him in his viv you can use this stat for the ceramic bulb. I had the same issue with my Microclimate mat stat but I believe the dimming and pulse stats are better (I hope so as I have got 2 Microclimate prime 2's in their boxes waiting to be fitted)

he's still tiny about 18 inches, but I'll be get his new viv sorted soon and I'll be using overhead heating as i want him out basking as much as possible, i don't think I'll be using Microclimate again as I've only had limited experience with the brand and am not pleased, first had a mat that lasted a matter of a month and went on the blink and now the stat. Whereas all my habistat products are spot on!!!!

Got them banded together in the middle of the mat. The stat knocks off and doesn't kick back in until the temps have dropped alot

Microclimate on'off stats are known to not be as stable as habistats.

Where do you have the stat n thermometer probes

He's currently in a small terrarium using a heat mat. It's the same setup that i used for my corn with no problems the only thing that has changed is the stats
