Hi guys. I'm planning going out today to get some new decor for Kumar's viv. What decor do you guys use and what would you reccomend/avoid? Currently using his small coconut hide which he loves and I'm looking to spice it up a little bit.

Thanks for any reply

Kitchen roll tubes...very cheap (free!) and my snakes all love them! Some even prefer them to their proper hides. You can put quite a lot in too, so that they can slither about and among them.

I have mopani root, bamboo root, fake plants, hides and half coconuts in my snakes fauns/vivs/RUBs as well as kitchen roll and toilet roll tubes

Where did you buy this from, there are a few trixie products I want to look at but not sure who stocks them

I have mopani from the range, ivy from dunelm. Some cork bark from a local pet store and one of my Favorite bits is a collection of rocks which were scavenged from the beach. I have seen some fake fern leaves (25 leaves for £1.49) am going to use to make some plants with, the actual plants seemed rather expensive for what they were.

Haha I'm sorry but what is dunelm?

I got some very nice pieces of Mopani wood from the Range, aquaristic section, for £1.99!

Another good thing, if you have access to trees, or trees in your garden, I used some branches from our apple tree ( for free ).

If you don't mind having other things then "proper " decoration in your viv, I found both my snakes love various boxes - toothpaste box, cereal boxes, I've seen some pics of people using egg boxes, which looked fun.
