Posted - 14/12/2012 : 22:30:03 I am waiting on parcels that should be here by now. Got an email from FEDEX saying it couldnt be delivered, was at my local sorting office, was meant to click on link to get the receipt. I didnt want to click on it just incase was virus. Went uptown, sooo not easy for me, only to be told was not the only one, its fake. So if you get it, just delete it, or if not sure, phone local sorting office.
My friends mum got a scam call from a foreigner saying was from BT, there was a problem and needed to pay £70 or line would be cut off, now she is with another company. He said he would prove it, told her to hang up and then try the line, he hadnt hung up from his end and was silent making it look like he had cut it off. When he phoned back, she still didnt trust it luckily told him where to go
Just wanted to warn you, just incase. if mods delete this sorry for posting in advance! |

Posted - 17/12/2012 : 12:13:45 I received one from FEDEX ages ago that was a scam, also had other parcel fake ones. Just a shame as people will be expecting parcels this time of year and getting hit by it :/ If I'm unsure, I google the senders address, will pop up on google straight away if scam or not :) |

Posted - 15/12/2012 : 21:58:09 that scam has been around forever... and it's not just fedex I've seen lots of different companies.
When in doubt check the senders address, if there is any junk in there it's a scam. |

Posted - 15/12/2012 : 21:39:03 Seems there's an unusually high number of scams going round at the moment, maybe taking advantage of xmas time. Another one to watch out for is someone phoning about a computer problem, I've had that one. Annoying. |
