im really annoyed abut the lx range being discontinued! the new ones are fab but my long term plan was to have all matching vivs as my snake collection grows. Im in a bit of a dilemma now as I have two lx36s in tobacco....do I quick and buy 2 or 3 more before they are discontinued or replace my two with the 'new' lx36!!?

(wasnt really a question ...just more of a rant! lol) xxx

Swell repties have some still :)

lx being replaced by these I'm guessing? http://www.reptiles.swelluk.com/reptile-supplies/vivariums-416/compact-vivariums--1310/vivexotic-repti-stax-vivarium-large-beech-332982.html

Can see why you guys are annoyed, come in beech and white, guess it will be fine if you have beech vivs already but if you have walnut or tobacco... D:

You can still get them from manufacturers called them this morning to get spare glass
Freddiesmum Posted - 09/10/2012 : 13:25:52
I'm not sure of the differences but i want mine to match haha! I got one this morning from 888 reptiles, just under £59, and that was including express delivery (1 - 3 working days) Hope this helps!

They seem to be selling out everywhere - i managed to get one from 888 reptiles, but Swell Reptiles, Seapets and Blue Lizard all seem to be out of stock :(

My intention was to buy a LX36 when Snowdrop is ready , this will be in 8 months or so,now the new range has been released and sizes changed for no apparent reason, stacking will become untidy.
Surley the new runners and lock mechanism could of worked with the lx case, this is not great customer service.

I'm having to buy one today for Emmy who is only 3months old. very annoying lol
Sta~ple Posted - 08/10/2012 : 22:44:21
They make new ones like every year, I got annoyed at the ones I got just after my stack had nicer vents that matched the runners XD

I doubt the new ones will get cheaper, the only time vivs get cheap is when a store has an online sale. Before the new ones were released I did notice the older ones at some places being reduced before being discontinued.

I only intend to have another two snakes (I know everyone says that ha ha) I want a milk snake and another king but hadnt planned on getting them this year, but want matching vivs when i do get them. Think I might just buy two more viv exotics while I still can and put them in the spare room ready for when I need them.

I was thinking that the lx replacements are only that price because they are new? They might probably get cheaper?x

I've splashed out and bought a stack of the lx36. I didn't want to buy all four together as I only needed one at the moment but I didn't want to chance not being able to get more of the same later on

The new ones are much more expensive than the lx36 as well as being a completely incompatible size. Grrr. They haven't made it easy on us. Although to be fair, the new ones do look quite good.

Could be quite pricey to replace your current vivs with the new ones as well as buying 'new' new ones. That (and the size which is slightly wrong for the space I wanted to put them) was what really put me off them.

I am thinking the same thing. I have been looking most of the night at all the old and new ranges to see what is going to work best for me and I think it is the old ranges so that means I need to spend money now that I wasn't planning on
