Hello

I know everyone is dead against tape, so what should I put in the holes where wires go to stop little George escaping ?

Thanks

Gone with cardboard. Plus they will be blocked off soon by the background

Cardboard pushed in tightly for me and fingers crossed no escapees yet

I use rolled up tissue too, no issues so far!

I roll up a tissue or a piece of kitchen towel and force it tightly into the hole. Not had any probelms with escaped ones. A quick and esay temperary measure.

Go to your nearest motor factors and ask for a blanking grommet... basically it looks like a grommet but without the hole! Trim to size and use a hot glue gun to fix.

When it comes to putting wires through just slit a small hole into it and drag the wires through :-)

Rubber bands Put a large rubber band over the end of the probe (wrap it round several times so it is tight) which is inside the viv/faun/RUB then push the elastic band 'lump' down so that it is wedged in the hole. This is what I have done for Titan and so far it seems to be quite effective as he can't push it through the hole which is is wedged in and it is wedged in nice and tight

I use the aqaurium silicone that i use the seal the vivs theres no way around it i even use it in the holes that the wires are fed through just in case ive seen Artemis squeeze outta insanely small gaps so the silicone gets into all the lil nooks and crannies perfectly

I just used a strong price of card board. Will replace with polystyrene tomorrow when I have some parcels arrive.

I personally use felt the type you make toys out of it can be well squished into any holes

Good point!

Trim a piece of polystyrene into a tapered 'bung' slightly bigger than the hole and bung it in with your thumb until it is flush with the board. Once it is stuffed in it is strong enough to stop a snake pushing it out. Push it in from the inside of the viv. Yet to see a snake that can pull it out.

Edit: Easy enough to push out into the viv from the outside if you need to add more cables.

I may try stuffing rope in the gap

Hmm only thing is when you want to add more wires

Definately do not put tape in! I was told to do this, and although luckily he hasn't injured himself, he has escaped :(

How about aqua sealant?
