If you found out someone was getting their first snake and you could give them only one piece of advice, what would it be?

While buying the cat yet more food at the weekend in a local pet store i found myself drawn to the selection of reptiles they have.
While there i met a prospective new snake keeper, advice given check out the corn snake forum ,join, learn and ask any questions you want as help is on hand.
He was also adviced to buy from a breeder as they should affer more advice ,will know the snakes history and keep the price down.
He seemed happy as he glazed over and carried on looking at the snakes.

Have you researched everything possible about the snake you are getting?

My advise would be to join this site and read LOTS & LOTS lol, I'm glad I bypassed the petshop route and found this site, it's been a godsend

Stat again for me lol.

Its awful how many of these poor creatures die a year due to the lack of one. Not to mention the fire risk x.x

As a first time snake keeper myself I have to totally agree with Moppet.

Research, join a good forum like "the corn snake forum" do more research and ask questions (even if they might sound odd to you) you can be guaranteed an answer from other helpful corn snake people. Oh and do more research...
